During this visit, Jennifer Marie and John run into classic ketogenic struggles. Their setbacks have nothing to do with what they’re eating, and everything to do with life.
How do you handle a holiday?

In Week 4, John and Jennifer Marie learn some bio-hacking. I teach the methods that help take your ketosis from beginner level to a sustainable lifestyle.

The two most common questions I get …

1) “Doc, what BLOOD METER do you recommend?”

ANSWER: FORACARE: http://bit.ly/2QKGmKG

For years my diabetics told me this system was great. I tried several others before I bought this one. I can’t count the number of times I have tested my blood only to get an ERROR message from the strip. Grrr. I hate that. FORACARE gets my vote because it is accurate and takes only ONE test strip to get the results. YES!!

2) “Doc, which Ketones-In-A-Can (aka exogenous ketones, BHB) do you recommend?”
EXOGENOUS KETONES BHB: Dr Boz BHB: (affiliate link) https://amzn.to/2D8Xbr8

I don’t recommend these in everyone. I have times this is a great solution for my patients that are very overweight and trying to get used to burning ketones for fuel. All keto supplements should have magnesium in them. This one does.
I own this Dr Boz brand and the Dr Boz supplements.

  1. Happy Happy Happy… Love the hair! Great eye contact! Please tell Jennifer that using "percentage" gets distracting. Two Thumbs Up from Georgia!
BTW conspicuous by its absence was your pearls.

  2. Houston, Texas. Happy birthday Dr. Boz. I read your book and like it very much. What about people who don't have a gall bladder taking bile salts with the fat that they eat? I have seen several videos showing how gall stones are removed using a borescope with some "arms" to break up and remove stones without removing the gall bladder. I think that removing a gall bladder is a terrible thing and should be avoided if at all possible. What do you think?

  3. I am on keto and I can see the benefits, not so much in weight loss, but rather in feeling much more energetic and active. But if, after reaching my weight goal (about 10 kg less), I decide to go back to eating a bit more carbs, what should I expect with insulin resistance? I'm afraid the organism can forget how to properly respond to carbs which might result in sugar and insulin spikes higher than before, am I wrong?

  4. Thank you for sharing all you have learned. I bought your book and really loved it. I also suggested to my doctor that he research Keri
lifestyle and let me know his thoughts after. Like so many docs he wasn’t familiar. I was diagnosed type 2 diabetic 2 years ago. On 10/1/18 several of my office colleagues went Keto. Since then I’ve gone from 8.2 a1c to non diabetic – 5.4! OMG! Hooray!!

I must have exceeded the limit!! I’m new to keto and social media. Anyway, thanks so much!! You are my inspiration!! <3

  5. Another WOW session, learned so much, looking forward to the salt baths. 2 weeks in Keto, we just finished a 60hr fast, produced ketones in the purple zone. Salt really helped with hunger. Thanks guys. God Bless

  6. I love pinto beans, too! I used to eat 2 cups a meal. Now I will occasionally eat 1/4 cup with fajitas, burritos, etc. I have learned to make my tortillas with one egg whipped and cook in a pan slow heat spread thin.

  7. I have a question on fiber. I have been low carb for years. I started Keto about 3 weeks ago. Everyone morning I take a powdered multivitamin supplement in an 8 oz. glass of water and add 2 scoops of collagen and 2 tablespoons of sugar free psyllium husk fiber. Is it OK to continue the psyllium husk or should I discontinue using it? I have been in Ketosis every day based on ketone strips.

  8. I love the floats! I do a 3 day chelation ever 12 days which depletes all the magnesium from the body. I suffer from fibromyalgia so it's the quickest way to replenish the bodies magnesium levels (which is the only way I treat the fibro)!

  9. Hi Dr. Boz, Jennifer and John, thank you for doing all your doing to educate people. I had a question for Dr. Boz, could you touch on auto immune diseases and the Keto Diet? Is it beneficial for someone with Crohn’s and ulcerative colitis? Thank you

  10. I have been on keto diet for about 3 months. I'm on anastrozole due to breast cancer. Anyways I have started drinking bullet proof coffee along with only eating one a day to boost weight loss. Anyways woke up to early, checked my ketones with urine test , my ketones are high in purple
( not diabetic) is this ok

  11. Dr.Boz Happy Birthday, you look great. You having the
    sessions with that husband
and wife is really great idea.
There is a lot of information
that comes out of that with
    things they have experienced
and question they ask and you
answer I feel like it covers a lot
    more questions that everyone
has. I really enjoy your videos
anyway. I saw the one where
you were in Canada and you
looked so cute in that hat..
    Luv Ya As Always

  12. I have doctor Boz's book on Audible , listened to it once. It was really good very informative. I'm in Kentucky. I have alot of weight to lose so I'm trying, but I have a sugar addiction so It's hard but I'm trying.

  13. John may want to get those high tech slip on compression sleeves for his knees. They help my arthritic knees a lot. They're on Amazon. Also he needs to get up to at least a 72 hour fast or longer on potassium and sodium chloride salt water and magnesium to help him get through the fast. A long fast generates a lot of growth hormone and stem cells for his knees and other problem areas in the body to repair them.

  14. Magnesium Crystals baths..at least 2 x a week that will help with pain and will help you sleep..deeply. Put 2-3 cups of Magnesium crystals
(or Epsom salt) and 1 cup of apple cider vinegar in water.
Stay in at least 45 min. Have a cup of room temp water as you will sweat

  15. I’m watching from Australia!! I don’t get to see it live, so I wait for it to come to YouTube. These videos are so helpful!! Thank you so much.

  16. If John checks these comments I have some good news for you.  I'm 59 with a multi level spinal fusion, I was on chronic pain meds. for over 10 years.  Morphine, Fentanyl patches, Soma, NSAIDS every few hours.  I was still in pain and it was miserable.  I went keto about 1 1/2 years ago and I have been steady with it.  Now, I take absolutely no pain meds whatsoever.  I do take Epsom salt soaks every other day for the magnesium, and that has made a huge difference.  I also started the intermittent fasting in the beginning, but now I do 96 hour, 4 day fast frequently.  My pain is finally gone.  If you stick with it, it will work for you also.   It just takes the slow and steady road, and autophagy fixes things a little at a time. 😉
